Delays in accessing abortion can have profound economic and personal consequences. As abortion restrictions increase and legal protections are dismantled, pregnant people in hostile geographic regions face extreme barriers which must be navigated in a short window of time. Local practical support organizations have the expertise and existing networks to support patient travel in a hostile landscape, but practical support work is severely under-resourced.
